Joe Cupani is New York City-based in his studies and his life. He studied at The School of Visual Arts, City College, and The High School of Art and Design. He also studied jazz performance at The New School and acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.  The East Village was his home during the 50s and 60s (around the corner from The Fillmore East). “I knew art was my life even as a kid” surrounded by artists and musicians for a creative jump-start. To support his painting habit, Joe worked as a creative director for several top New York advertising agencies. His influences are Edward Hopper, Richard Diebenkorn, Elmer Bischkoff and David Park. Joe is a jazz guitarist and aspiring actor. “Painting, music, acting, it’s all the same. Art is art.”
